Glucosamine Complex

Glucosamine Complex

Glucosamine Complex is commonly comprised of Glucosamine sulphide (NaCl) and N-acetyl-glucosamine (NAG) in equal quantities, meaning that it contains two of the five main sources of Glucosamine, the others being: D-Glucosamine hydrochloride (HCI), D-Glucosamine sulphide (2KCl), and Poly N-acetyl-glucosamine (poly NAG). There are also Glucosamine Chondroitin Complexes available which contain Chondroitin sulfate as well as Glucosamine sulphide.

Glucosamine, a derivative of glucose, is a fundamental building block for the formation of the minerals required for cartilage, as well as the manufacturing of tendons, ligaments, bones, nails, and skin. It is produced naturally by the body, but as a person gets older, or if he/she has a period of prolonged ill health, the body's ability to produce Glucosamine is hindered and the person may require supplements.

Glucosamine Chondroitin Complex is most commonly used to help treat the symptoms of osteoarthritis. It is used to help rebuild cartilage and replace the synovial fluid around the joint. This in turn reduces pain because the synovial fluid helps to cushion the joints so the bones are no longer scrapping against each when moving. Glucosamine is particularly important in this state because it is the key to the manufacture of all the main ingredients in the joint fluids and surrounding tissues. Chondroitin sulfate itself is important for maintaining the structural component of cartilage and provides much of its resistance to compression, so together the two minerals can greatly help with the joint pain caused by osteoarthritis. As well as osteoarthritis, Glucosamine can also be used by patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, but since this condition is much more complex Glucosamine Chondroitin Complex is best used in conjunction with other treatments.

People with inflammatory bowel disease and/or leaky gut syndrome are also able to benefit from the Glucosamine Complex. These diseases appear when the guts become weaker and are unable to produce and use N-acetyl-glucosamine. This weakness causes the gut walls to become thinner, allowing food and bacteria to pass through into the bloodstream, causing illness. Taking Glucosamine Complex helps to heal the guts, stop the leakage, and ultimately help cure the illness itself.

The use of Glucosamine as a natural healing product has been proved in more than 300 studies and 20 clinical trials, and because Glucosamine is naturally produced and used by the body, there are no side effects. But since supplements containing D-Glucosamine hydrochloride (HCI) and D-Glucosamine sulphide (2KCl) are both derived from shellfish, people with a shellfish allergy are advised to avoid those forms of N-acetyl-glucosamine, and instead use vegan Glucosamine Complex, which is derived from vegetable sources.

Other supplements that help to produce NAG include N-acetyl-glucosamine and Poly N-acetyl-glucosamine, which are supplied separately. But since the molecules both these versions of NAG contain are larger and more complex molecules than those of Glucosamine sulphide and Glucosamine hydrochloride, they are less well absorbed by the body and so are inferior in terms of both abortion, and utilisation. Finally, Glucosamine sourced from vegetables is believed to be superior to the shellfish derivatives, both because it doesn't cause allergic reactions, but also because it is purer, making it more effective when turned into medication.
